St. Patrick’s Day!!!

Alright today isn’t St. Patrick’s day but today my sisters and I are teaching about St. Patrick’s ministry in Ireland!! It’s real exciting cause I love St. Patrick’s day and leprechaun’s and Irish stuff, so this Good News Club is going to be GREAT! But it’s interesting that many people don’t know the real reason for St. Patrick’s…I find it very sad. Cause Patrick is a great example of  who God can use to share His word. Patrick wasn’t even Irish….he didn’t even want to go to Ireland…he was captured and taken to Ireland where he was sold as a slave. And after working for a Druid chief for 6 years he was able to return to England…his home. But he had dreams about Ireland and the people there and he knew that’s where God wanted him. He went back to the people who took him away…he went back cause he knew the people of Ireland needed God!

How amazing that he was able to go back and tell those people about Christ and what He did! His impact in Ireland was so great; yet today people only celebrate St. Patrick’s day for beer. So I’m excited to teach this story so that the children in our Good News Club will know the real meaning of St. Patrick’s day! And be able to pass it on to their parents and others!!

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;

and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

  1. What is a Good News Club?

  2. That sounds really cool! Can anyone do it?

    • As long as you have believed in Jesus as your Savior then yes. You do have to go through some training and background checking to work with the kids. So there are local chapters everywhere! So if you contact them I’m sure they will give you more info 🙂

  3. Haha oh trust me I believe in Jesus. In fact someone I love deaply is the reason I am a christian. I used to be a mess, but God changed my life by simply bringing me someone who was just as lost as I was 🙂 . I live in Florida. Does the area I live in matter?

    • That’s so awesome! God is so amazing the way He uses people in our lives!
      You live in Florida! Awesome!
      Well I can give you some info. The area in Florida doesn’t matter. For each county there are different chapters. http://chapters.cefonline.com/ <you can search to find your local chapter there! It will come up with contact info and who to talk to! If your interested we have a training coming up called Christian Youth in Action. the training takes place in Clearwater, Florida…it is a week long training geared towards teens, but adults can come and benefit from the training too! But at the training we are taught how to lead children to Christ, how to share the Gospel, how to give a missionary story and more! It's a GREAT training! http://cefofncflorida.com/cyia.php <you can go there for more info! It's a great program and you meet alot of new people and your relationship with God grows as you spend a whole week studying and working for Him!

      Then after the training, we get to put the training we received to use! We teach 5-Day Clubs. 5-Day Clubs are just like Good News Clubs only for 5 days in a row. But we play games with the children and invest into their lives and show God's love to them through us. http://www.cefonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=14&Itemid=100050 < go here for more info!

      But seriously if your interested, check it out! It's a great way to spend your summer and do over the school year 🙂
